Danielle M. Richard is an artist from rural Massachusetts who now works and lives in the North of Boston area. Through writing, wood working and printmaking, their work explores visceral moments of reckoning: an interiority meeting an, at times, violent or malevolent exterior; a twisted or deeply alone interior meeting community for the first time…
Influenced by their conservative Christian upbringing, Richard is interested in reclaiming rules, strictures, rituals, devotionals, repetitive acts with devotional objects, self-flagellation, litanies and laments.
Danielle earned their BA in Literature from Boston University and their MFA in Printmaking from MassArt. They’ve shown their work around Savannah, GA and the greater Boston area, notably at Sulphur Studios, Behind VA Shadows Gallery, Warehouse XI and The Piano Craft Gallery.
